QMed collaborates with the Campbell Collaboration!

Hello friends! A Very Happy New Year to all. This year, I hope to write more regularly and share QMed’s developments and also my own thoughts and ideas for all of you. I am happy to start the year, with an announcement.

QMed’s vision is to see that Evidence Based Practice is in every health professional’s DNA. And as we always insist, unless people learn how to search for evidence, this will not happen.

Systematic searching is a hugely important component of every systematic review. QMed has been working to support Cochrane authors and Cochrane activity in the last few years. And now, we will be doing the same with the Campbell Collaboration, which creates Campbell Systematic Reviews which focus more on the social sciences. A large number of Campbell reviews have a health care component and so are very important for health researchers.

As part of our journey with the Campbell Collaboration, we will be conducting a workshop on developing an effective search strategy for a systematic review. This is in collaboration with the Chitkara University, which will be hosting the workshop. We will later be teaching and assisting Campbell review authors in India with their literature search activities.

What has been great about this development is that Denny John – Evidence Synthesis Specialist at Campbell’s India office has placed importance on this activity and has planned not only the workshop but for more regular inputs from us. I also met Howard White, the CEO of the Campbell Collaboration in December 2017 and we had good discussions on working together

Cheers to lot more of systematic searching and evidence production!
