Global Health Library

Global Health Library is an initiative of WHO for global knowledge management. It is an index of scientific and technical literature produced in low- and middle- income countries. The purpose is to increase visibility of health literature that is produced across the globe and enhance sharing and transfer of knowledge. In 2015, the Global Health Library, adopted the name of Global Index Medicus.

GIM is an central search platform for a) Five Regional indexes, b) Global indexes of databases like MEDLINE, SciELO and c) The WHO institutional repository.  BIREME,  a specialized center of WHO, maintains this resource in order to ensure its reliability. This index has various search features and filters similar to PubMed. It allows mesh searches, use of different filters, display formats, sorting of search results, has links to similar articles  & full text if available and many more utilities.
