Jan 2014 was a wonderful month for us as we had the opportunity to deliver four lectures on literature searching / reference management. One was at a preconference workshop - The International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHBPA)  Conference, Mumbai – on Jan 9, two were at Research Methodology workshops, one at LTMMC (Sion Hospital) and the other at GSMC (KEM).  LTMMC organized this for DNB students of their college as well as others. Workshops: PubMed and Mendeley, AIMS, Kochi – Dec 8, 2013

We were at AIMS again on Dec 8, 2013 to conduct a full-day workshop on literature search and reference management. Ms Indira Nair, the chief medical librarian along with help from Dr Rajesh Pai worked hard to organize this one. They personally approached HOD’s of various departments to spread the word about this workshop. We require individuals and institutions to put such efforts to create awareness about literature searching till the day the system makes it mandatory for health professionals and students to know these skills. Workshop : PubMed Interactive – LTMMC, Mumbai – Dec 6, 2013

The day when 'faculty' became 'students' It was 9 am in the morning and a group of 20 members sat listening with rapt attention to the dean of the college talking about the importance of learning literature searching skills for medical professionals. Only today the listeners were not students of the medical college but the faculty, and the ‘faculty’ was QMed! The faculty members were very participative and enthusiastic.
