RoMEO – Helps you check if a journal allows archiving of your paper

You wish to decide which journal to send your paper to. There are several factors involved here. One important factor is if a journal permits archiving your paper. After all you want people to read your paper! And if the journal is not open access or does not make articles freely available, you want the choice of archiving it somewhere.

Check out the RoMEO initiative at http://www.sherpa.ac.uk/romeo/index.php

Enter the name of the journal or its ISSN and search. RoMEO will tell you instantly about its archiving policies.

Here is a sample result for the Indian Journal of Medical Research –

Ideally we all need to choose “Green journals” which permit full archiving (both pre as well as post publication versions), or at least Blue journals  which permit post publication versions
