QMed Tutorial – 1: Introduction to Literature Searching

Before you actually search, it is important to know how to do a search using scientific methods of searching. This is a web based tutorial which is useful both to people visiting this site directly or to those who have heard our Founder – Vasumathi Sriganesh’s lecture on literature searching.  It tells you how to classify any information resource into one of three types and helps you understand which type you need to check out for your query. It also covers five elementary tips on Searching PubMed, and then gives a brief introduction to evidence based resources

Special notes:

1. A medical librarian from Seattle, USA especially commended this one as the easiest she found amongst many, to help her teach literature searching, when she had to do programs in another developing country. The same librarian nominated our Founder, for the ICLC, Evidence into Practice Award

2. This resource has also been listed in “HealthConnect International’s Training Resources Bulletin of Aug 2012
