Vasumathi

Vasumathi Sriganesh this month highlights that the AETCOM handbook on the NMC website talks about the need for every Indian Medical Graduate to know how to search. And for the need for every college to develop these capacities. She also writes about a lovely essay she read, where the author explains that there is no such thing as failure, but only results. And how we always need to plan what we do with results of our efforts.

"The AETCOM handbook has it!"

Every medical teacher would have definitely seen the "AETCOM book" (2018). Brought out by the erstwhile Medical Council of India, it is now in the website of the newer entity - the National Medical Council.

The booklet is a 94 page document prepared by the Academic Cell of the Council. The guide includes a bunch of new competencies to the existing ones, in preparing Indian Medical Graduates of high standards. It specifies the need for every Indian Medical Graduate to know how to search. And for the need for every college to develop these capacities. QMed CAN help in this need!

"There is no such thing as failing. There are only results"

I am reading this book by Wayne Dyer – “Wisdom of the Ages”

In one of the essays he says, “There is no such thing as failure. Failure is a label that we create, based on our judgement. There are only results we produce. And the question we should ask is – What do we do with the results we get”?

In another course that I attended, the trainer said “If something does not work, try something else”

How does QMed apply this learning? How can anyone apply this? And can we all work together to apply this learning, to help all medical college students get great literature searching skills?

From our Social Media Posts - Other Events / Courses / News

Himanshu Jindal is a UG student. He recently got a publication in a PubMed indexed journal. We feel wonderful when we hear these stories, and more so when a student is also a student of our courses and says that the course helped him in all his work! We shared this story with our donors. And guess what? We immediately got more donations from three donors. Himanshu - you brought us luck!
And the best part - One of the donors is a nurse from Kolkata. Along with her donation she sent us this note: I find the NGO to be very useful for me as well people who are doing research. I have learnt and still learning a lot from you all. Let me know if I can contribute in any other way. That felt soooo good! Our FB Post

Nandini came back to QMed early this year, after having worked with us in 2018. She shares her story.  We had emailed this story to all our donors (both - those in India and abroad) - and we promptly go a response from Dr Lata - a senior nursing professional who wrote: The narrative of Nandini is very encouraging. Dr. Vasumathi I too loved your presence and your lecture in Mumbai in 2019. You gave me a lot of purpose and direction unknowingly. And one day I too will share with you if I succeed. Till then take care. Lots of love and good wishes It was wonderful getting such a response! Thank you Dr Lata! We also got a $150 donation from a doctor in the US, who read this post.

From our Social Media Posts - Do You Know

"CoronaCentral" is a fairly new resource which collates research publications from the three main coronaviruses: SARS-CoV-2, MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV.
You can browse by topics like Trending articles, Clinical articles, Epidemiology articles (and even their subsets!)
You can search for specific articles by title, drug name and more.
Visit the site - https://coronacentral.ai/- and take the easy tour to get a good idea. Seems very promising.
Do also check out this article - https://www.pnas.org/content/118/23/e2100766118 - that is all about the CoronaCentral database. Our FB Post
