March: Celebrating Compliance Wins & Lifelong Learning Stories

We are happy (and relieved) that in March, we had our 12A and 80G registrations renewed. Compliances for NGOs are getting tougher by the day and any such development becomes a cause to celebrate and feel grateful too!

I would love to draw your attention to the two testimonials we have shared - one from a UG student and one from a doctor who finished his PG a couple of years back. The UG student - Nileshbhai - has taken the trouble to go through every bit of an ELearning course and write about its usefulness. One of the many reasons we love UG students! And Maj Satish - a doctor from the Indian Army shares how the learnings are useful even after he had completed his studies. QMedCourses are useful for lifelong learning.

We have also shared two blog posts about QMed - one about its perceived "ownership" and the other about what if it needs to close down. Both thought provoking - do go through them. We would love to hear from you - your thoughts on both!

Vasumathi Sriganesh.

From our Blog

Is QMed Yours? The Answer Is Yes — and No.
Over the years, I have often heard people introduce me by saying, “She runs her own organization — QMed.” Each time, I pause internally. Not because it is incorrect. But because it is incomplete. When someone asks me, “Is QMed yours?” I find myself holding two truths at the same time. The answer is not a simple yes or no. …

QMed Receives Renewal of 12A and 80G Registrations
We are happy to share that QMed has received the renewal of its 12A and 80G registrations from the Income Tax Department. These registrations are essential for nonprofit organizations in India and are an important part of ensuring transparency and compliance in the sector. What are 12A and 80G Registrations? 12A registration allows a nonprofit organization’s income to be exempt …

Why Is Medical Research in India Lagging?
In conversations with doctors across India, one sentence comes up surprisingly often: “Our research is far behind.” India trains thousands of doctors every year and runs one of the world’s largest healthcare systems. Yet when it comes to medical research, many doctors quietly feel that we are not where we should be. Some of the reasons may lie in infrastructure..

If QMed Disappeared: Would Better Searching Stick in India?
A reflection on literature searching skills in India—and whether they truly last without constant reinforcement. I recently read this blog post by Margaret Gitau that asked a deceptively simple question:If your NGO disappeared tomorrow… who would truly notice? Not donors. Not partners. Not regulators. But the community you exist to serve. It stayed with me—because when I apply that question to QMed, the …

Testimonials for QMedCourses

Course: Information Resources & Literature Searching
I give the score for usefulness because I learnt about information resources and literature searching in a clear way and in a short time. I found the PDF in the starting that suggests how one can complete the course by giving 15 minutes per day. What I liked most is about clear understanding in a short time. After the lecture we can attempt the quiz which is related to topics and helps us to understand the topics very well. I found the course summary as PPT and chart -which are time saving and very useful. It is the best platform to learn about the basics of resources and searching. Nileshbhai Merubhai Dabhi, UG student, B J Medical College Ahmedabad (Supported by Foundation For Excellence)

Course: Introduction to Referencing
The resource was highly useful because it presented clear, well‑structured information supported by practical examples that directly applied to my work. Its relevance to real‑world situations made the content easy to understand and implement, which significantly enhanced its overall value. Maj Satish Kumar Dash, INHS Asvini
